This project was inspired by the story of a transgender woman on the path to overcome doubt & discrimination, and towards accepting her new identity.
I was trying to describe with my illustrations the emotions and feelings which can be experienced by someone struggling with deep doubt and fears, and how a person finally found peace within oneself.
Acceptance of LGBTQ is still a big issue in my home country, Kazakhstan, and wish I can help to raise awareness and bring light on the struggles transgender people experience here, for hopefully a brighter future!
