ultraviolet

ultraviolet is a series I photographed in my hometown, bartın, in november 2025. I haven’t lived there for six years, but I go back and visit sometimes, so returning still feels like meeting an old friend I don’t fully recognize anymore. during my night walks, I started noticing how ordinary objects shift their presence when the light disappears. in those hours, everyday objects stop being ‘things’ and start to have a soul. it’s not about darkness though, just they have something to say. what feels ironic to me is that this happens in the city I know the most, the place where I’ve lived almost my whole life. yet at every age, they suddenly change what they’re saying. I feel like I have to catch it before it disappears again.
