Submission Painting

What matters.

My painting focuses on portraiture as a means of exploring the emotional complexity of human beings, conveying their inner state. I am interested in portraying them from their emotional presence, their vulnerability, their latent identity. I believe that portraiture can be a radical act of empathy and connection with humanity.
Loose brushstrokes, contrasts, and intuitive composition accentuate an emotion, a tension, a story. I do not seek to idealize or embellish; I am interested in the raw, the honest, what makes us real. The moment when the intimate becomes universal. I paint faces that speak of shared emotions and invite the viewer to recognize themselves in the other. For me, portraiture is a form of deep connection. An intimate presence, sometimes uncomfortable, that confronts the viewer. I paint to reveal the intangible.
