Godzilla is an emblem of the chaos unleashed by human greed, pollution, and disregard for nature. The painting process layers fishing net imprints and crushed soda cans evoking the ubiquitous presence of human consumerism and highlighting the deep, ongoing damage inflicted on our ecosystems, and the sense of urgency for change. Terrifying yet clumsy, Godzilla is a monstrous figure however not deprived of a humorous dimension that I wanted to keep present in this series.
