The image depicts a giant figure, personified as big tech/media. It’s a co-opted, pseudo-angelic, part machine part human figure sowing its fiery seeds across the land, drying everything up and leaving a scorched and barren landscape. It leads the masses with its makeshift lantern made of disjointed and jumbled-together phones.

Stylistically it’s a call-back to 14th-century illuminated manuscripts, that would often highlight saints and religious figures. But in this case, achieved with an intentionally modernized, digital approach.
