Create a wearable artist papercut book. Students will be able to express creative ideas based on form, content, and materials, and adapt their ideas to an artist book to be worn. Using historical traditions, we will take a modern and exciting approach to learn the design principles and methods needed to explore the creative and conceptual realm of papercutting design. Students will create paper images and paper tools, explore different materials to be cut, and discover the incredible variety of the contemporary papercutting scene and the many possible applications of this art form to other domains. Tips, tricks, and resources will be provided.
