"¿Y qué me queda?" is a series of 12 watercolor paintings portraying memories I have with my sisters, or at least the ones I remember having. These came to be after my sisters moved out to become independent and I stayed home with my parents, left to decide what would be the least scary path forward.
For many years I didn't remember what my childhood looked like. I had distorted the difference between a memory and a dream which made it harder to distinguish reality; so I decided to treat these as them living in a corner of my mind where they can play out and mature on their own. These paintings were made so my sisters and I could cope with the separation and become closer again in these new beginnings of adulthood.
A continuation of this series will be shown next year in New Jersey, USA.
