"You Should Smile More" is a photography series inspired by something women hear all too often: that we should smile and look pleasant, regardless of how we're actually feeling. The series explores the emotions we're often taught to hide, push down, or only express in private. I want to challenge the idea that women always need to look happy or agreeable, and instead show that there's nothing more powerful or beautiful than allowing ourselves to feel and express the full range of human emotions.
