Art chose me — I never chose it. I never thought about "being an artist," and honestly, I still
don't feel comfortable with that label.
I have been drawing since childhood, not as a pursuit but as a way of seeing. At some point,
the need to change that way of seeing became urgent, to step outside the comfort of a
familiar style and try something else, to observe differently. My work moves between
abstraction and intellectual caricature, built on primary colors alongside black and white
space, not out of an aesthetic of simplicity, but because red, blue, and yellow carry a brutal
honesty.
My ideal has never been to become increasingly difficult to understand. It is the opposite, to
be as clear and direct as possible, so that the work can be understood by as many people as it
