Aaron Varshay is a digital pioneer blending compositing and algorithm-based graphic manipulation.
His process is complex in its own right, but novel in its execution. It boils down to designing an image, feeding it to an algorithmic program, adjusting the algorithms to mutate the image, then transforming the final output into an artwork.
Lack of control in this process is the most interesting element for Varshay. Intent is often thrown out once an image is inputted due to the erratic nature of the algorithms. To find success he practices a transcendent mindset, ebbing and flowing with computed chaos and allowing it to act as a collaborator rather than an enemy.
Varshay believes this process of collaboration with technology will become more common in the future and represents a profound leap in the way that artists can create.
