Candela Kerze is a Galician illustrator based in Madrid. Her work revolves around mental health, specifically anxiety disorders and how to survive in an hostile world being a highly sensitive person.
Her work draws from Lora Mathis's current of thought Radical Softness as Weapon, who argues that openly sharing your emotions and working on them is a political movement and a way to combat the widespread idea that feelings are a sign of weakness.
Her illustrations provide a unique vision of the everyday through a personal and also generational prism, with references to memes, internet humor or video games. In addition, the sensitivity in the selection of a palette with always vibrant colors creates a visual narrative as important as the characters and the scene being depicted.
