Cenìnye is a portrait photographer from Monrovia, Liberia. Photography found him in a beige room at seventeen years old in the United States. His world, previously an orange oasis in Liberia, were the red brick buildings of colonialism. He used photography to decorate these walls with portraits of the Black diaspora. Taking inspirations from the works of Gordon Parks and Spike Lee, his photographs built a pedestal, a home, to unapologetically assert a Black future.

Cenìnye, nevertheless, asserts it is not a grand act to proclaim the Black diaspora's humanity. The statement itself is obvious and indisputable. As he points his camera at people, he attempts to share with them the love he felt in Liberia, to take the soft orange glow of the sun and crown them in gold. Through portraiture, he welcomes you home.
