Originally from Saint-Petersburg Russia, Deena is an illustrator and educator currently living and drawing in NYC.

Deena So’Oteh is an award winning illustrator, storyteller and educator holding an MFA in Illustration as Visual Essay from the School of Visual Arts. Her extensive editorial and book cover work has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators, Art Directors Club, American Illustration and 3x3 Magazine.

Passionate about the world around her, Deena uses visual storytelling to translate things that are difficult to express with words. Her expressive illustration style embraces movement, texture, and organic form. Through her evocative use of light and atmosphere, Deena creates images that captivate with their moody tension. Her bold graphic simplicity is visually striking and memorable.
