Finnish photographer Tommi Viitala (b. 1975, Helsinki and Vienna) explores light, shadow, and human presence within contemporary urban environments. His signature style includes precise composition, sharp contrasts, moody atmosphere, and symmetry. The sunnier the day, the more he looks for shadows.

Though his relationship with cameras began in the 1990s, he found street photography as his primary expression in recent years. His work has been featured by Apple, Adobe Lightroom, Fotografiska Emerging, and international photography publications, exhibited in Tokyo, New York, Paris, and Rome, and is held in the collection of the Swiss Museum of Avantgarde.
