Raised in Chelan, WA, Hyatt Johnson (b. 1996) earned his BFA at Cornish College Of The Arts in Seattle. After graduating, he moved to Taos, NM then to Bend, OR where he now lives and works. Hyatt’s work contends with fundamental human questions about god, finding home, and labor using printmaking and drawing as his mediums. Having assumed the role of eternal student, he has learned to always be cautious of certainty. Inspired by good storytelling in any category, he is sparked by illuminated manuscripts, music from the heart, and poetry.
