Graphic and gestural in nature, Jenny’s art is centered around communicating a particular experience of place. She is inspired by her home, a dynamic physical meeting place in Ontario where the granite and pines of the Canadian Shield meet the limestone and dark forest of the Lowlands; it is magically termed ‘The Land Between.’ Jenny currently paints from her boathouse studio on Stoney Lake— being immersed in the landscapes, she finds inspiration daily and her two young sons allow a porthole to a magical way of seeing. She seeks to animate her subject matter, capturing those subtle and apparent movements and playing up the vibrance of the land as she sees it.
