Ni Ouyang is a photographer and image-based artist born in Shanghai, residing in New York City. Ouyang holds a BFA in Photography and Related Media from FIT, The State University of New York. Ouyang’s work is rooted in her dual cultural experiences of being an Asian in America, she creates social narrative style still and moving images, heightening her storytelling through elements of construction and re-staging. She often combines reality and imagination into a semi-documentary anchored by the female gaze.
