Ning Zhou was born in 1996. The only daughter of a bank clerk and a corrupt politician.
She is queer, not limited by any gender. And she enjoys it.
She is underground. She lived with many artists, musicians and writers in Beijing, tried to build their own utopia in the most political city in China. She considers herself as an outsider, marginal.
All the projects she has done so far are based on her own personal experience. For her, photography is a language to tell stories, same as literature which she used to do. She taught herself photography and achieved good results in a short period of time. Her portfolio is largely comprised of photos shot on film, focusing on capturing a portrait of humanity, and also weaving her dreams.
But she wants to be a stand-up tragedian! Oops!
