Artist Bio (SHADE)
SHADE is a Belgium-based visual artist born in Russia. Working across analog collage, photography, and mixed media, his practice investigates the intersections of memory, bodily transformation, loss, and queer identity. 
With a background in photography, SHADE bridges personal archives with found vintage print media, exploring how human identity and emotion are continuously fragmented, reinterpreted, and reconstructed. As an educator and artist, he approaches collage as an intuitive laboratory—a tactile medium for visual storytelling, self-exploration, and personal narrative building. 
SHADE’s work has been presented in cultural spaces and institutions across Belgium and Germany, including Beursschouwburg, Kaaitheater (Brussels), The Village (Berlin), and the Belgian Poster Festival (Antwerp).
