Juliet Martin, who knows anxiety better than anyone, offers a jittery amalgam of materials including her hand-woven fabric, illustrations, paint, and glitter. Subjects range from pandemic loneliness to the heartbreak of fear and romance. Her collection “Household Objects Remind Me of You” highlighted furniture as the only thing in life she couldn’t lose to Covid. Such humor invites the viewer in, then delivers a serious punch. “These are my discordant memoirs.”
She has a BA in Visual Art from Brown University and an MFA in Computer Art from the School of Visual Arts.
