Samaya Norman is a photographer and mixed-media artist focused on exploring different identities through visual art. Samaya wields the camera as a tool to examine humanity and the personal relationships we form with one another. Her work draws from observations about the expectations of women, people of color, and queer individuals. Samaya’s creative practice reflects her own feelings about the fragility one experiences between childhood and adulthood and learning to traverse the tumultuous landscape of growing older. Being part of a generation constantly searching for something to connect to, Samaya is constantly seeking new ways to expand her process. She weaves a part of herself into every piece, hoping to capture the most sacred of memories and preserve them.
