Mark Todd
Fantastic mixed media comic book covers by Mark Todd. I love the really distorted ones, so raw and oozing nostalgia – obviously created by someone with a real love of comics.
Artwork by Andrew Gordon (most of which is quite colourful, but I really liked these drawings). My holga is collecting dust on my shelf too!
I wrote about Flora Hanitijo’s photography back in November (here), and I got a wonderful surprise in the mail today! Flora sent me a copy of her beautiful book, pleasure of slowness. The title perfectly describes the tone throughout the book, thank you very much Flora!
Kris Moyes is quickly becoming one of the most exciting music video directors to come along in awhile. While none of his videos made it on my Best of 2008 list, they all seemed to have at least one section that got me hitting rewind over and over to analyze what he’d done. Head over to his site to get inspired! Make sure you watch his video for Beck, and his commercial for Cadbury is great too.
This one’s just for the Vancouverites – my good friend (and talented local illustrator) Ehren Salazar, is hosting a variety show called Hidden Agenda. Friday February 13th at The Waterfront Theatre (1412 Cartwright St. on Granville Island) – doors at 7:30pm – show at 8:00pm. There will be live music and a special encore screening of Animatron 2008 (a compilation of short animations)! Here’s a little message from Ehren not entirely related to Hidden Agenda, but not not related either:
