Music Video: Woodkid “The Golden Age” Featuring Max Richter “Embers”

woodkid-goldenage

“The Golden Age” is the final single and video from Woodkid’s debut album, and it is a stunner. He collaborated with composer Max Richter here so the music you hear is actually a blending of “The Golden Age” with a new version of Richter’s “Embers”.

Woodkid, whose real name is Yoann Lemoine, is simply operating on an entirely different level from everyone else. The guy’s only 31; he releases a concept album in a time where most artists are only concerned with singles, directs all his own videos (all of which were brilliant), oh, and found time to be Pharrell’s creative director.

I love his choice for the album’s videos to slowly change from really slick, effects-heavy, spectacles to the exact opposite. This is the type of video that gets me excited about photography.

Watch “The Golden Age” below.
