“The Kennedy Trip” by Artist Charlotte Keates

A new series by British artist Charlotte Keates (previously featured here). Containing nearly 50 paintings of 1960s Florida and California, “The Kennedy Trip” is based on a batch of vintage Kodachrome slides Keates acquired indirectly from the family. While capturing the vintage architecture and luxury spaces exclusive to the wealthy of that era, Keates ultimately infuses each dream-like scene with feelings and memories of her own.

See more images below or on display at PULSE Contemporary Art Fair in Miami Beach this month. You can also check out Ian Froome’s beautiful short film about the project, featured over at Booooooom TV earlier this week!
