With an interest in what he describes as “the temporal intimacies” created when engaging with strangers through his photography, London-based photographer Conor O’Leary set out walking the streets of a small rural town in Northern Finland, making portraits for his series “Tornio”.
“These encounters brought up stories of loss, loneliness and finding God. These fleeting intimacies were created by both the sitter and myself engaging in open and frank conversations about family, love, and loss. It’s these intimate encounters that encourage me to continue making work.”
