Photographer Spotlight: Piero Percoco

Piero Percoco (previously featured here) is a self-taught photographer from Bari, Italy. Currently living in a small town in the province of Bari, Percoco found his way to photography more than 10 years ago. Having never attended photography school, cinema has been an integral part of his journey, especially science fiction films like Alien, Predator, Total Recall, and 2001: A Space Odyssey.

What began as a hobby—posting daily photographs of his village to instagram—has eventually turned into a real job. He has been commissioned by various magazines and brands, and has published three photobooks, the most recent of which was released in July, 2021 along with an exhibition, “PUGLIA CRUDA,” an anthological account of 10 years of photographs of his homeland. “To this day, my work is constantly evolving,” he says.
