After many years working as a creative for international advertising agencies, Mexico City-based artist Horacio Quiroz reinvented himself as a self-taught painter in 2013. Since then, he has participated in residencies, exhibited his work internationally, and been published in various magazines. With an interest in the ever-present duality inherent to everything in our universe, Quiroz describes his recent work as a dialogue between these opposing forces: “It explores the human condition, gender, identity, and the relationship between bodies and their environment through colors, textures and matter that give shape to corporeal volumes revealing a fantasy world closely tied to my daily psychological processes.”
