Illustrator Spotlight: Holly Stapleton

A selection of work from Toronto-based illustrator and painter Holly Stapleton. Bathed in golden hour light, Stapleton is interested in themes of selfhood, relationships, and nostalgia. She works primarily as an editorial illustrator for clients such as The New York Times and The Washington Post. Her personal paintings, usually done in oil and gouache, often explore the personification of textiles and objects and aim to highlight the meaning attached to the things we wear, carry, and collect.
