Balls of Foil I love

This series began with a simple, crumpled ball of tin foil and a need to find my way back to the joy of painting. I started photographing it around my home, drawn to the constantly shifting reflections, unexpected colours and tiny pockets of light caught in its surface. What began as a playful experiment became a quiet study in observation and attention, each crease, shadow and reflection offering something new to discover. There’s something meaningful to me about giving this ordinary, disposable object so much care. These paintings are ultimately about slowing down, looking closely, and finding beauty in something I might otherwise have overlooked. I love them.
