Someone once told me that straight men generally prefer to have side-by-side interactions with each other, rather than interacting face-to-face. Whether it’s watching the “big game”, rock climbing, or fly-fishing in Upstate New York, men tend to bond through shared activities alongside one another, without making eye contact.
Some theorize this tendency exists because men are unable to face each other without it being some sort of “challenge”, or that it’s too intimate. But I’m not so sure if that’s true.
