I have been researching the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and stumbled upon an archive of images from CNN of people carrying items they had taken from stores a week after the flooding. The news coverage labeled those people "looters" and used it as justification to dehumanize them. This body of work acts to deconstruct these images and creates narratives that blur, untangle, and transform the subjects to challenge modes of representation of the Black body.
