My style and outlook on art has been heavily influenced by my mother Michele Tragakiss’s dreamlike expressionist style of painting. I believe that dreams, memory and reality all exist in the same space and are interwoven together as one piece of perceived experience. The way you experience an object or space is not as direct as the colors and shapes of its physical being, but rather a combination of your lives individual total experience and the lifetime of the object or space as well, in conversation. The outside world exerts a pressure on you which shapes perception, and vice versa. I want to be able to photograph any object in any space because I believe everything is photograph-able, and I do not want to be in a place where I wouldn't feel comfortable taking a photograph.
