Contemporary Muses reimagines the nine classical Muses as women of the present. Classical attributes remain, but the figures are brought into the present through gesture, clothing, colour and psychological presence. The series explores the dialogue between inherited visual culture and contemporary identity, using expressive figurative painting to question how ancient archetypes can remain emotionally alive today. Rather than recreating mythology, I treat it as a living visual language: a way to reflect on memory, knowledge, creativity, movement, silence, desire and voice. Each Muse becomes an individual presence, rooted in tradition but shaped by contemporary experience. The paintings move between recognition and reinvention, allowing the classical image to survive not as nostalgia, but as something active and human.
