DAYDREAM

I work primarily with ink and watercolor, creating scenes that seem as though they could exist in reality, yet somehow do not; scenes that feel as though they might come true, yet somehow never quite will.

Because these landscapes felt like dreams slightly out of step with reality, I gave this series the title DAYDREAM.

To me, they are also small wishes of my own.

Dreams are often spoken of as something solid and certain, something that guides a person’s life. But I think most dreams are intense yet fragile visions. If either we ourselves or the world around us were to change, even slightly, they could disappear like smoke in the very next moment.

It is these fleeting moments that I hope to preserve in my paintings and share with others.
