I have been making mountainous landscape paintings, with humorous and confronting titles. Heres something I recently wrote about them:

The act of painting these landscape is a complex task of distilling the chaos of lived experiences, observational studies and visual invention. While I advocate to keep the “wild” in “wilderness,” these landscapes might appear neatly contained within the fence of the canvas. Mountains, hills, rocks and mounds are gathered into tidy heaps, easily mistaken as domesticated objects composed within a still life. Don’t be fooled! A wild horse freshly fenced is the most dangerous. I can assure you, these mountains are not safe. But they are good.
