My Doukhobor paintings explore history, memory, identity, and cultural inheritance through a contemporary visual language. Drawing on family stories, archival photographs, community histories, and lived experience, the work reimagines Doukhobor life with particular attention to women and the ways history is carried across generations. The paintings engage with themes of faith, resistance, displacement, survival, labour, and belonging, while considering what is remembered, what is lost, and what can be reclaimed through art.
