Amanda Kuniyoshi (b. 1995) is a contemporary artist, poet, and art director from Lima, Peru. With a background in Graphic Design and Art Direction, she works primarily through painting, moving between figuration and abstraction. Her intuitive practice explores identity, multiplicity, transformation, the unconscious, and the tension between control and surrender. Influenced by Carl Jung’s ideas of the unconscious, shadow, and individuation, and Friedrich Nietzsche’s philosophy of becoming, she treats painting as a process of decomposition, emergence, and transformation. Her work has been shaped by introspection, motherhood, and an ongoing search for new visual languages. In 2023, she published her first poetry collection, Ecdisis.
