In this body of work I took photographs of objects and sent them to my local Supermarket Bakery when they were then printed onto cakes. It was my intention to challenge the consumption of images and destabilize them. the object, the cake, acts as a frame, a viewing device, a portal, and a viewfinder to examine images. The cake stays the same, stagnant, filled with so many preservatives that it never loses its shape. I am interested in the cake’s ability to be a resistant object. I find satisfaction in this conversation: the cake acting as a pedestal for the image’s arrival.
