Faceless Triptych: Circumstance, Subject, Object

Faceless Triptych explores how identity is continually shaped through the interrelation of circumstance, subject, and object. Across three paintings, Fame (I’m Gonna Live Forever) — Circumstance, The Artist’s Head — Subject, and Tilda Swinton Is Cracking — Object, faceless figures and fractured surfaces challenge fixed representations of identity. Cracking becomes a recurring trace of impermanence, while colour, biomorphic forms and shifting visual relationships create movement between image, perception and meaning. The series forms part of my ongoing investigation, guided by my Innovative Painting Manifesto (2000), into the question: how can painting continue to evolve?
