Tsjisse Talsma illustrated three high pile textile carpets (together 144M2) for dutch art centre Kunst Centrum de Ploeg. The Centre is named after ‘De Ploeg’, an artistic movement from their area known for painting au planair about a century ago. The designs on the carpets come from quick ink drawings Tsjisse made while out in open landscape. With ink and sketchbook in hand he traversed the flat and windy fields, lonely trees and flocks of sheep. The drawings where later translated to digital illustrations inspired by the colours and brush strokes De Ploeg is known for. These strokes and colours dance around you while you walk on top of the carpets. Hugging you, or subtly guiding you into a specific direction.
