Juri Padel is a Berlin-based artist, actor and director whose work spans visual art, theatre, film and television. He studied acting and Media Science at the University of Cologne, graduating with a Master of Arts.
After many years away from painting, he returned to the medium and is currently developing his visual language on canvas. In May 2026, he presented his artworks in the solo exhibition OFF THE WALL at Galerie Zimmer48 in Berlin and was longlisted by BBA Gallery. He explores the visual remnants and discarded materials of the urban environment.
It examines torn, painted-over and weathered surfaces — billboards, utility boxes, and facades — often perceived as unsightly elements within the cityscape.
Rather than treating these surfaces as mere signs of decay, the work understands them as a layered palimpsest.
