As a Nikkei artist with Peruvian and Japanese roots, I use photography and short poetry to explore memory, mental awareness, family, and the quiet barriers we inherit from culture. Nature becomes a language in my work: water, wind, light, and small living things reflect moments of absence, affection, uncertainty, and hope. Rather than explaining what should be felt, I leave space between image and words for different interpretations. My work is also shaped by the traditions I grew up around, where some emotions are deeply felt but not always spoken. Through these quiet observations, I invite the viewer to pause, listen, and perhaps recognize something from their own memories.
