perishable plutocracy

Marie Magnetic (b. 1989, Jackson, Michigan) is a visual artist using color, form, and surreal imagery to reflect on the mundane, the morose, and the magnificently mad. She is queer, autistic, Blackfeet Native, Irish, and Jewish. Marie likes to look for whimsy in unexpected spaces and highlight the absurdity of life. Pulling from her experiences, social issues, and current events, Marie’s acrylic paintings, collages, and mixed-media art consider the experience of being othered. Besides a handful of art classes she has taken at community art centers, Marie is self-taught. Marie currently resides in St. Louis, Missouri. You can find her work at mariemagnetic.com.
