I paint vibrant portraits of women as confessions of love, desire, shame and grief. Growing up in a conservative Bangladeshi society, my life has always been dictated by the rules of “good society.” My art is the space where I can reject the need to be reserved or obedient and choose to be free. My process begins with writing down all my thoughts, which I associate with vivid colors and patterns, and then use to paint instinctively.

Shameless is a series of paintings documenting my journey of unlearning the shame I was taught to feel; about love, pleasure, my body, beauty, and the "right" way to live. These works capture the moments when I break free from those rules. It is a space that feels liberating and addictive, but one where I cannot stay for long. Through these portraits, I document the heavy friction between deep-seat
