I’m an artist from Bangladesh, currently based in Bangkok, Thailand. I paint vibrant portraits of women as confessions of love, desire, shame and grief. Growing up in a conservative Bangladeshi society, my life has always been dictated by the rules of “good society.” My art is the space where I can reject the need to be reserved or obedient and choose to be free. My process begins with writing down all my thoughts, which I associate with vivid colors and patterns, and then use to paint instinctively.
