Brook Banham is a Detroit-based contemporary artist and designer whose work explores the automobile as an object of design, culture, desire and identity. Drawing from Detroit’s automotive landscape, pop art, graffiti and his background in transportation design, Banham creates bold mixed-media assemblages combining digital imagery, found cardboard, spray paint, acrylic and graphic elements. Cars become more than machines — they are cultural artifacts, symbols and characters. His work moves between polished design and raw street-level materiality, reflecting the contradictions of Detroit itself: beauty and decay, engineering and improvisation, aspiration and salvage.
