Dina Razin is a self-taught Syrian-Iraqi American artist based in Lisbon. Working with oil pastels, soft pastels, charcoal, acrylic and collage, she explores identity through memory, displacement, spirituality and the subconscious. Her practice moves between two interconnected visual languages: figurative and abstract. In her figurative work, human figures, nature and symbolic imagery create psychological spaces that explore unseen realities and the unknown. Her abstract practice offers a more intimate emotional space, where gesture, layering and texture give form to memory, silence and vulnerability. Both approaches emerge from the same impulse: to communicate experiences that resist language and give form to inner states beyond certainty or definition.
