Elie Chammaa is a Lebanese multidisciplinary artist and painter based in Florence, Italy. Rooted in personal figuration and influenced by Synthetism, his work transforms fragments of memory, lived experience and everyday imagery into deeply personal compositions. His paintings explore recurring themes of intimacy, age, violence and danger, often bringing contrasting ideas into the same image: tenderness and threat, desire and discomfort, familiarity and estrangement. Drawing from his personal life, relationships, places, literature and religious imagery, Chammaa uses painting to translate emotions and experiences that can be difficult to articulate through words.
