Images come through a visionary process of finding structure in the way color mixes and spreads on the surface, a phenomenon known as pareidolia. My process is entirely intuitive. I don't use references. I lay down watery color and texture, let it dry, then come back to find what's there. Whatever I see is what I bring out using more paint or ink. The characters and scenes that emerge hint at a larger narrative world, one I'm still uncovering with every new artwork. Themes of perception, hierarchy, matriarchy, care, and wonder keep showing up.
