Akshay Bhoan's artistic practice is focused on the intimate study of violence and memory through social politics, personal experience, and memory.

Bhoan's work is primarily enriched by the photographic image that engages with personal narratives, archival material, light, and his own written texts. He was the recipient of En Foco Photography Fellowship in 2020 and is featured in the BBH's 2021 most exciting unsigned artists list.
